Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded to an individual who over their lifetime has given outstanding service to sport as a competitor, administrator and/or coach, at local and/or national level and has not generally received national recognition.

Eligibility

Must be a New Zealand Citizen, or hold a Resident or Permanent Resident Visa.

Criteria

The Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded to an individual who over their lifetime has given outstanding service to sport as a competitor, administrator and/or coach, at local and/or national level and has not generally received national recognition.  This is not intended to be a posthumous recognition.

Nominations

  • May be made by Halberg Trustees, RSTs, NSOs, Clubs and the public. 

  • Must be on an official nomination form detailing the nominee’s service and achievements. 

  • Can be made at any time. Only nominations received before 30th November are considered for that year’s award. 

  • Unsuccessful nominations will be held and can be updated yearly. Please note that any nominations that have not been updated for three years will not be considered.

Voting

Nominations are judged by Halberg Trustees. The winner is announced at the ISPS Handa Halberg Awards.
